Coach 1 (for Initiation and Novice Coaches) For all new coaches to hockey and for an introduction to cross-ice hockey.
September 19th, 2018 Classroom Session: 5:00pm to 7:15pm On-ice Session: 7:30pm to 8:30pm
Coach 2 (for Atom and up) For all Assistant and Head Coaches who are coaching in the Recreation league and Atom Development starting at Atom. October 20th, 2018 Classroom Session: 8:00am -12:00pm On-ice Session: 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Development 1 (Pee Wee Rep and up) will not be offered in Salmon Arm. Please watch the BC Hockey website for the nearest location.

Coach Selection Process
Rep Coach Application Process: Applications will be available May 4th to June 8th. June 8th will be the cut-off date for all Rep Coach Applications. Thereafter the Coach Coordinator along with the Coach Selection Committee will appoint coaches to their positions. Coaches will be selected through the following: - Application - Reference Letters - Coach Certificates - Coach History - References
If the Selection Committee does not have a clear choice then an interview process may take place. If the Selection Committee is unable to find a qualified applicant for a particular coaching position from those who have applied; the position will remain vacant until such time as a qualified applicant is found. The Selection Committee will take into consideration the skill level of the applicant’s son or daughter (where applicable) and their ability to make a particular team. Rec Coach Application Process: Applications will be available June 1st to August 31st. August 31st will be the cut-off date for all Rec Coach Applications.
Thereafter the Coach Coordinator will contact all successful coaches and appoint them to their teams. All Assistant Coaches and HCSP Personnel will be chosen by the Head Coach. Assistant Coaches and HCSP Personnel will be approved by the SAMHA Board before appointed.
